Την 6η και την 7η θέση στον μεγάλο τελικό των 100μ. πρόσθιο κατέλαβαν αντίστοιχα οι Γιάννης Καρπουζλής και Ρωμανός Αλυφαντής στους Μεσογειακούς Αγώνες της Ταραγόνα.
Οι δύο Έλληνες πραγματοποίησαν καλή εμφάνιση, με τον Καρπουζλή να ολοκληρώνει με χρόνο 1:02.28 και τον Ρωμανό Αλυφαντή να κάνει 1:02.52.
Την πρώτη θέση και το χρυσό μετάλλιο κατέκτησε ο Φάμπιο Σκοτσόλι με χρόνο 1:00.36.
Από την κούρσα ακυρώθηκε ο Σλοβένος Πίτερ Στίβενς.
