NWSP Water Polo, provides a first class opportunity to clubs and schools with athletes at the age of academic Year 8, to mix high performance water polo training and studying at the standards of the National Curriculum of England & Wales. NWSP Waterpolo proudly announces its new water polo and study abroad programme, in partnership with Verita International School, based in Glyfada, Greece.
Our one – week programmes offer the participants two daily water polo sessions led by top Greek coaches, a world class water polo training standard supported by the Hellenic Water Polo Coaches Association (SEPY) and an academic schedule provided by Verita International School, based on the National Curriculum of England & Wales, brought to life through inquiry-based learning and social-emotional intelligence.
Choosing this programme will give water polo athletes studying from Year 8, access to warm weather training and getting involved in a very high standard of water polo under the guidance of exceptional Greek coaches. We have designed the programme accordingly to offer great experiences for the students – athletes, including training with top Greek coaches, competing against Greek sides, providing a tailor made programme of strength and conditioning training and sightseeing excursions and educational trips within Athens.
The students will be also benefiting from secondary school studies aligned with the needs of their academic curriculum as Verita International School proudly offers the National Curriculum of England and Wales through the International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC) for Years 7-9, the Edexcel International GCSE for Years 10-11, and the prestigious International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme for Years 12-13. NWSP Water Polo and Verita International School, by forming a strong alliance, are committed to developing students academically, physically, socially, and emotionally, to the best available standards, without them having to interrupt their school education to take part in prolonged high performance sports programmes abroad. Studying and playing water polo in Greece, will give them the most exciting opportunity to integrate with other cultures, create long lasting friendships and benefit from the international community that NWSP and VERITA have created!
Sports nutritionists and sports psychologists are always available to provide their expertise around the sport of water polo and of course the athletes can benefit from masterclasses with Greek Olympians of world wide significance!
